ALL THE DETAILS

CAPTURE
THIS CHAPTER.

You will never regret documenting these moments - whether it be before you become a mama, when baby arrives or as your family is growing. Each chapter is so fleeting, but so special.

This page is a hub for all of the details, collections and prep for your experience with Next Chapter Studio. Everything you need to plan your session is right here.

Thank you for letting me be a small part in this beautiful time for you.

THE EXPERIENCE

SCHEDULING

Once you fill out the inquiry form, I will rech out with my collections and more info. We can decide on the session you'd like, location and a date.

Please note:
Maternity sessions are recommended to be done between 28-32 weeks of pregnancy. Newborn sessions are recommended to be done within the first 1-2 weeks of baby's birth. However, we can always schedule your session based on your schedule and availability.

PLANNING

I strive to personalize each and every session, so chatting about the details before your session is key. After confirming your date, I will send over a Prep Guide & a questionnaire for you to fill out. Once you fill it out and I receive it back, we can chat about wardrobe, location and the overall look of the session. I can also create a Pinterest board for inspiration.

The Client Closet is available for you to browse for outfits for your session. I have a collection of women's tops and dresses. I also have an extensive Client Closet for the babies.

PHOTOSHOOT

Sessions can be done in my studio, your home or an outside location.

GALLERY

You will receive an online gallery of digital images within 7-10 days of your session. All images will be available to share and download straight from the gallery.

STYLING

styling tips

COORDINATE, DON'T MATCH
I recommend choosing a coordinating palette and dress everyone in shades of the palette.

NEUTRAL & MUTED COLORS
Whites, creams, tans, browns and pastels photograph beautifully. Say no to neon and logos!

TEXTURE ADDS SO MUCH
Mixing up fabrics and layering are great ways to add some dimension to your photos. For mamas, flowy dresses always shoot well as you move.

why neutrals?

EASY TO COORDINATE
Think about it: You are trying to color coordinate outfits for you and your family. It is so much trickier to match color hues than it is to match neutrals and one pop of color.

TIMELESS & FLATTERING
Even when trends change, neutrals will always be in style. You want to look at your photographs and see the connections, not the distracting clothing.

DISPLAYING THE PHOTOGRAPHS
No matter what your home decor is or what color the nursery is, neutral tones in your photographs will always be perfect to display - they will go with everything!

PREP

Manicure:
A small but important detail! Make sure your nail polish is not chipped and they look the way you would like. Your hands will be in many of the photos, holding your bump.

Rest:
Take it easy the night before your session. That way, you can arrive refreshed and relaxed.

Belly shots:
Some mamas love shots of their bare belly, while others prefer to simply capture their belly covered up. We can chat about what you feel most comfortable with.

MATERNITY

NEWBORN

Full & fed:
Feed your baby before your session, so they will be comfortable and sleepy. Be ready to feed at the session as well. We can pause for sneak breaks!

Pack the essentials:
Keep extra wipes and diapers on hand for quick cleanups. If your baby likes a pacifier, pack one!

Patience:
I reserve two hours for these sessions, simply because they take time. We may take breaks to feed, change and relax baby. I will ensure we get solo photos of baby, as well as a variety of baby with each of you and family shots.

not sure where to have your session?

ask ty for the link

Finding a location for your session can sometimes be tricky. So, I created a Location List to make it a bit easier. Now that we are planning your session, we can take a look at this list if you are unsure of where we should go. This list includes spots in various towns, with photo examples and helpful info.
